FutureSmith

This is FutureSmith! A short vr game made as a university project.
The player takes control of a blacksmith in a dystopian future where, due to

numerous environmental disasters, people have developed physical ailments

which impede their every day life and ability to work on-site.


My contributions include:​

  • Setting up the 3D development pipeline

  • Setting up the in-game lighting

  • Creating particles

  • Unwrapping and texturing most 3D assets

  • Creating 3D assets

  • Rigging moving assets

  • Creating an art bible

  • Programming minor features

  • Team size: 6

  • Software used: Blender, Blockbench, Unity

  • Platform: PC

  • Time spent: ~2 months

Texturing tool

In this project we unfortunately did not have a lot of people who were experienced with texturing models. This is why I created a simple node set up that we could copy and paste in order to more easily texture out models. Any extra detail could be manually painted on as well so the assets would still look cohesive.

This saved a lot of time in the project.
